Hello beautiful soul!

A few years ago, I clicked on a new friend’s social media post. In the post, she thanked the team of professionals that helped her to grow as a public speaker. She included an exquisitely curated video featuring herself and her work. I was awed by the quality of the video and her stellar performance.

So, I let her know.

Her response?

“Thank you, Stephanie. I will recommend you as a speaker to this program. I think you’ll get a lot out of it.”

My response?

“Oh, no thank you (heart beating faster). I’m definitely not interested in taking a public speaking course. I’d rather go through unmedicated childbirth (again).”

Ok, so I didn’t say that last part out loud.

Fast forward 3 years. I took the course. Then I signed up for the 8 month intensive program. Now, after hundreds of hours of script writing, editing, rehearsing, and performing I can call myself a Heroic Public Speaking graduate.

The experience was transformational for me…and for everyone else in my cohort of 40+ amazing professionals from #grad18.

The icing on the cake was that my dear friend, Laura Reiss, committed to taking the course with me. Through facing our fears and showing up for our own growth and expansion, we deepened our friendship. We also astonished ourselves (and each other) with our accomplishments.

I no longer feel fear and dread around public speaking. I am truly excited about how my new skills will transfer to my personal and professional life.

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about my next TEDx talk.

Next time you are facing one of your fears, consider asking a friend to walk the journey with you. It’s so much more fun.

Is there something you’ve been afraid to face or address? Perhaps a channeling session will offer you the clarity and support you need right now.
