Hello beautiful soul!

In April of this year, I embarked on the emotionally and physically challenging experience of moving out of the home where I've raised my children.

For months, I sorted through hundreds of household items to determine which ones would join me in my new home.
Countless overstuffed plastic bags went onto the front porch as charity donations.

At the same time, I was also cleaning out my childhood home —
An equally enormous undertaking, as it contained over 40 years of accumulated memories and belongings.

My plan: Relocate my family to my childhood home.

One day, while walking my dogs, I received an unexpected communication from my father's soul:
Get a mold test.

I had not considered this, but, since I always listen to Dad, I scheduled a mold inspection.
Within a week, the discovery of mold throughout the home led to:

Demolished cabinets and countertops
Ripped up flooring
Removal of drywall
And much more.

Just as I was starting to take a mold-free breath, a contractor noticed signs of termites. Oy!

The minor renovations I had envisioned had turned massive. I was catapulted into a world of dust, debris, noise, machinery, fumes, contractors, and a steady stream of men in work boots.

My sensitive nervous system was overloaded.

One night, as I slept an exhausted sleep, Dad came to me very clearly in a dream. In the dream, I was giving him a tour of his home and asking for his approval for the changes I was making.

A part of me feared these drastic changes might somehow diminish or erase his memory. I wanted to keep him as close as possible.

As Dad followed me into the different rooms of the house, his face lit up in a smile. He turned to me and said very clearly: "Make it your own, honey." In the dream, I received this blessing and a weight was lifted from my shoulders.

Make it your own, honey.

My Dad's soul gave me permission to transform our family home into something that would rise up to meet me in this stage of my life. His blessing became my mantra during the intense 7 months of renovations.

Make it your own, honey.
Since I always listen to Dad, I did.

What I didn't realize at the time was that as the home was transforming, so was I.
I am not the same person I was 7 months ago.
I'm getting to know this new version of me.

Soon enough, I will share more about my transformational journey.
But, for now, I would like to announce that I am fully relocated and (mostly) settled.
Wahoooooo!!!
