A dear and talented soul sister (and breast cancer survivor) made these beautiful macramé breasts for me. I love them. They make me smile every time I see them.

So, I hung them in my favorite room of the house: my kitchen.

When I need some leverage with my teens, I threaten to hang the boobs in their bedrooms. Or better yet, to order many more pairs and hang them in every room of the house. I’m seriously considering the latter idea.  

My awe and respect for women’s bodies led me to become a certified lactation specialist over 20 years ago. I have also worked as a certified birth doula for a long time, empowering parents to make informed decisions about their bodies and their birth experience.

So much of my adult life has been dedicated to supporting others to have agency, autonomy, and authority over their bodies and their choices.

I’m sickened by the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v Wade. Truly gutted. And enraged. So, so rageful.

I’ve been channeling that energy towards empowering all of us to reclaim agency, autonomy, and authority over our bodies and our choices.

Whether it is my Channeling for Charity group to benefit Together Rising in protecting and advocating for reproductive justice, sending personal donations to those who are providing women with safe access to health care, or casting our votes for candidates committed to protecting reproductive rights, there are many things we can do that make a difference.
