Hello beautiful soul!
Some years back, one of my clients proclaimed, "I really struggle with meditating. I'm sure that's not something you experience. I'll bet you meditate for hours every day."
I spit out the sip of water I'd just taken as I choked on my laughter.
I explained to her that my meditation skills and achievements were likely no better than her own. To this day, I'm still not sure she believes me.
While I do believe that a meditation practice is essential to becoming a more clear channel, being "good at it" (whatever that actually means) is not a requirement.
Every time I meditate, my thoughts run circles around me.
Every. Single. Time.
Sometimes I leave my meditation session feeling worse than when I started.
That's always a treat.
Other times, I'm able to achieve that nourishing state where I'm not aware of any thoughts and only present to peace.
Those sessions feel like the most replenishing nap.
I am not a meditation teacher. I leave that to the experts; and, boy, am I grateful for them!
Some of my favorite meditation teachers are: Tara Brach, Thich Nhat Hanh, and Michael Singer.
Channeling is, in its own way, a form of meditation. Like meditation, channeling requires me to be centered, open, receptive, present, trusting, and in flow.
When I emerge from channeling, I often feel joyful, grateful, and renewed.
Hey, maybe that client was right after all! If channeling is a form of meditation then I can say I do it for hours a day.
